Joi AI is an adult AI companion platform at joi.ai, run by Novi Limited in Nicosia, Cyprus, where you chat with AI characters by text and voice, request photos and videos, and — where available — talk to them on real-time video calls. It runs in the browser only; there is no app, and registration is required for every interaction.
Its pitch is “AI-lationships”: a library of Joi Original characters with backstories, a public gallery, group chats with AI participants, and what it describes as official digital duplicates of real celebrities alongside custom characters. For this Joi AI review we focused on what matters to people who come to create AI slut characters of their own — the generator, the media and the price of explicit content — and on how it handles safety.

Joi AI’s public pages describe three layers: a prompt-based character generator, media and calls inside chat, and a paid layer of Neurons for explicit content. Here is how each works, from its generator page, terms and safety pages as of September 2026.
The Joi AI character generator
Creation starts with words rather than menus. You write a short brief — look, outfit, role, mood, personality — pick a verified art style (realistic, anime or hentai) and generate, or you start from a pre-created model. A consistency feature keeps a visual link between images of the same character, which Joi AI itself calls an aid rather than a promise of an exact copy. The limits are firm: no personal photo uploads, no face replacement, no deepfakes, no undressing tools, and no attempts to reproduce a real person. We score the builder 9 — flexible for writers, less guided than LoveScape’s or OurDreamAI’s menus.
Photos, videos, voice and video calls
Characters chat by text and voice and send photos and videos in supported chats. The standout is the Video Call Feature: real-time audio and video with your virtual friend, available depending on device, region and plan, and needing camera and microphone permissions. None of the other services we reviewed lists anything similar; GoLove’s Live mode comes closest. You can also send characters virtual gifts, priced in Neurons. Video and voice score 10, and images 10 as well — availability still varies by availability that varies by plan and region.
Group chats, memory and safety
Joi AI adds community features — comments and multi-user group chats with AI participants — but publishes nothing about memory length or controls, so memory scores 8. Safety is where it leads: every image or video request is checked before generation, published gallery media is reviewed by a human ethics team, conversations are monitored in real time, and it says it runs independent red-teaming twice a year. Its zero-tolerance policy covers minors, non-consensual imagery and deepfakes of real people, which earns content rules a 10.
Joi AI Pricing and Plans
Joi AI pricing has two parts. Premium, a subscription billed monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually, unlocks the platform; its price appears only after signup and varies by region and promotion, so we could not record it in September 2026. Explicit content is paid separately in Neurons, and the Basic tier gives limited free access.
The Neuron costs are in its terms: reading one romantic message costs 4 Neurons, one photo view up to 120, and one video view up to 1,900, depending on the theme, with better rates for loyal customers. Individual characters can also carry their own Bot Subscription on top of Premium. Neuron pack prices are not public.
Payment is by card, Google Pay, Apple Pay or crypto where available, and charges appear as joi.com on your statement. An accidentally bought Neuron pack can be refunded once, fully if unspent; partial subscription periods are not refunded. Third-party sites quote Premium prices, but they vary, so we do not repeat them.
How Joi AI Compares
Joi AI sits fourth, between CandyAI at 9.3 and GoLove at 8.4. It beats GoLove on builder depth, 9 against 8, on privacy and clearly on content rules, and it is the only one of the five with real-time video calls. It falls behind the top three on pricing transparency and free access: CandyAI and OurDreamAI show their plan prices, while Joi AI publishes only per-view Neuron maximums. Joi AI Limitations
The pricing model is the main drawback. Premium opens the door, but the explicit content most readers come for is charged per view in Neurons — up to 120 for a photo and 1,900 for a video — so the real monthly cost depends on how much you look, and the Premium price itself is hidden until signup. Individual characters can add a Bot Subscription on top.
Privacy is middling. You can delete your account yourself, and Joi AI says it does not sell your data, but its terms describe an AI that keeps learning from user interactions, its privacy policy mentions session recordings shared with Microsoft, and both its terms and refund policy warn that a chargeback may lead it to disclose your private communications to prove the charge. There is no app and no published memory control. None of this is hidden, but you should know it before you pay.

Is Joi AI Worth It?

Joi AI is the only service we reviewed with real-time video calls, its prompt-based generator is flexible, and its safety programme is the most thorough we read; that earns 8.7 and fourth place. The pay-per-view Neurons for explicit content are why it is not higher: the bill grows with every photo you open. Start on Basic, test a conversation, and buy the smallest Neuron pack before committing to a long plan, and check that video calls are available in your region first.
If you mostly want to create AI slut characters and look at them without counting Neurons, LoveScape’s chip allowance or OurDreamAI’s published coin table will be easier to budget; if you would rather browse a cast, GoLove is the alternative.
